The City Farm Summer Garden launches this Saturday at Sydney Park, and what a better way to kick it off than with the release of their FREE workshop schedule.
There are a tonne of fun events to bring a little farming life to the city, and in the next month alone there are sheepdog trials, scarecrow-making workshops and tutorials that show you how to kick-start your own urban farm if your ‘fields’ are of the balcony or courtyard variety.
We open each workshop for registration a few weeks in advance, but you’ve got to be quick! Our first workshop has sold out, and our next event – learning how to make a mini scarecrow is now open! If you’re getting out your organising hat to start off the new year, we’ve also got the full list of events, including those not currently open for registration, here.
If you’re a bit of a green thumb or you want a closer look at how to maintain some of the unique produce why not become a volunteer? There is a roster of official ‘City Farmers’ being created now to contribute some weeding and watering man-power. To register, email cityfarm@cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au
