Calling all local green heroes! Second-round applications for the City of Sydney’s Environmental Grants Program 2011/12 close at 6pm next Monday 19 September.
If you’re a local not-for-profit organisation with a good idea to help green the City of Sydney, we want to hear from you. The City is especially keen to support projects that will help further the aims outlined in Sustainable Sydney 2030. Previously, grants have been used to support new community gardens, offer skills in building recycled bikes and even to create a rooftop farm!
Funding of $8,000 was awarded in Round 1 earlier this year to help establish an exciting new ‘Speed Date a Sustainable Designer’ event. Picture ten of Sydney’s leading sustainable architects and designers ready to take on 180 12 minute “dates”. The event plans to bring together ready-to-renovate homeowners with those best placed to inform and inspire on sustainable design. We can’t wait to see it!
