Sydney Rides is back

From 13 to 28 October, the Sydney Rides Festival celebrates the delicious pleasure of bike riding in our fair city. There’s something for everyone in 2012, from art exhibitions and DIY pannier workshops (that’s a satchel to hang from your bike if you’re new to the game), to the Try2Wheels sessions that give rusty riders, or those starting out, the confidence to get on a bike.

The festival launches with the Spokes People Street Fair and WOOP! Rolling Festival along the Bourke Street cycleway this Saturday 13 October.  From 12 – 7pm there’ll be pop-up community events all the way along Bourke Street, tasty treats, riding demos and workshops, activities for the kids and even a bike games arena in Taylor Square.

Another not-to-be-missed pick is the Youth Food Movement’s Ride-On Lunch on 20 and 27 October that invites bike-riding foodies to get their fix by meeting young Sydney farmers, gardeners, and chefs at five secret locations across the city. Hear their culinary love stories and devotion to a sustainable food future and share some tales of your own. We can’t guarantee you won’t fall in love with Sydney by bike in the process.

To see the myriad events that make up Sydney Rides visit the website. While you’re there, vote for your favourite day out and you’ll be in the running to win one of five bike packages valued at over $900!
