Come along to this super sized session to learn about the universal pleasures of growing, harvesting, preparing and eating food in the heart of the City. Speakers include: Cecilia Macaulay: urban permaculturist and author of the long-running blog Balcony Garden Dreaming Sam Crawford: architect and creator of Edible Outdoor Rooms (a temporary installation in Forster St, Surry Hills transforming under-utilised public spaces into small crops of edible plants, planted and cared for by the local community) Sydney City Farm reps who will share their vision for transforming a disused carpark at the Powerhouse and a section of Sydney Park into thriving urban farms (the reality is closer than you think!) Katie Oxenham: the City's Urban Ecology Manager who will talk about what we're doing to help Sydney’s biodiversity flourish and how you can help Joel Johnson: the City's Manager of Parks & Trees will facilitate a 30 minute panel Q&A following the presentations $12 museum entry fee applies but you'll obviously be able to explore the museum before and/or after and they'll be other fun stuff happening on the day ($8 concession).
