Some 75 per cent of residents live in apartment buildings within the City of Sydney. These vertical villages consume close to 40 per cent of the city’s water, 10 per cent of its energy and create around 50 per cent of residential waste.
With predictions that half of New South Wales will be living in apartment buildings by 2030, it’s time to act now for smarter and greener apartment living. The City of Sydney’s Smart Green Apartments program will support apartment buildings to become more sustainable, cost effective and efficient. It will identify how much energy and water your building is consuming; showing how and when to make changes to reduce consumption, improve efficiency and cut costs. Smart Green Apartments is for medium and high density buildings (20 units or more) within the City of Sydney area.
Join the City of Sydney and MC Indira Naidoo for the launch of Smart Green Apartments next Tuesday 20 September from 6.30 – 8.30pm at Customs House.
